Voxelis is a local DICOM viewer published on the iOS App Store under the bundle identifier com.ruslandautov.voxelis. It lets you open and view DICOM (.dcm) medical imaging files that you import from Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, Mail, or other apps via the iOS share sheet. Voxelis is intended for educational and review purposes only and is not a medical device or a substitute for a clinical diagnosis.
None. Voxelis does not collect any data. Specifically:
When you open a DICOM file in Voxelis — by importing from Files, accepting an AirDrop, opening from Mail, or tapping a .dcm in another app's share sheet — the file is read on your device by Voxelis. The file's contents (including any patient identifiers contained in the DICOM headers) are processed locally on the CPU and GPU of your iPhone or iPad to render the image and the optional metadata inspector view.
These files are never uploaded anywhere by Voxelis. They are not synced to iCloud by Voxelis (your separate iCloud Drive or Files settings may sync the source location, which is your choice). They are not transmitted to us or to any third party. When you delete a study from Voxelis's library, the in-app reference is removed; the original file in Files or iCloud Drive is unaffected unless you delete it there separately.
Voxelis includes an in-app toggle that hides the patient name and study date from the on-screen caption and the navigation title while you have the toggle on. This is a convenience feature for screen sharing, AirPlay, and screenshots. It is not a HIPAA compliance feature, it does not modify the underlying file, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for proper de-identification when sharing or distributing studies.
Voxelis is rated 17+ on the App Store and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any data from any user, including children.
Voxelis does not integrate with any third-party services that receive your data. It uses only Apple-provided iOS frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI, ImageIO, Core Graphics) for local rendering and the standard iOS document picker for importing files.
Because Voxelis does not collect any data, there is nothing for us to disclose, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. All data Voxelis interacts with stays on your device, under your control. You can remove all of Voxelis's local state by deleting the app from your device.
If this policy changes in a way that affects how Voxelis handles your data — for example, if a future version were to add an optional feature that does collect data — this page will be updated, the "Last updated" date above will be revised, and any new data-collecting feature will be opt-in and disclosed in the App Store privacy questionnaire.
Voxelis is a single-developer project by Ruslan Dautov. If you have questions about this privacy policy or about the app, email [email protected].
