Setting up the phone
- Prop your iPhone upright against a wall or object on the floor, about an arm's length to your side, with the front camera facing you.
- Your whole body should be in the frame, head to feet. The app shows a skeleton on the arm it is measuring.
- Even light helps. Very dark rooms and strong light behind you make tracking harder.
A rep wasn't counted
- A rep counts when you go from arms extended down to roughly a 90° elbow bend and back up. Shallow reps are not counted; the app says "Go deeper".
- Start each set from the top with arms straight, so the counter sees where you begin.
- Filming from straight in front works less well than from the side.
Training plans
The Plan tab starts with a placement test: one set of as many good push-ups as you can. Pick a goal of 20, 50 or 100 in a row, and each session's sets adapt to the reps the camera counted last time. Plans are part of PushCount Pro.
